Turning Up the Heat

Memorial Day Weekend has just passed and summer is on the horizon. Before you jump straight to swim trunks and tanks, let's think about a few more Spring looks as we still have a few more weeks until summer officially starts. As we all know the weather here in New York is as wild as riding the Coney Island Cyclone. So keeping in mind that there will still be some cool days ahead, let's look at what ASOS has available to get us through these roller coaster weather days.

Look 1

What better way to get into the spirit of the season than with a little red, white and blue color pallet. Look one is all about the American colors. This red windbreaker jacket is the essential piece to wear when the weather is unpredictable. It's light enough to wear with an undershirt or tee, and helps keep you warm on those cooler days and nights. I especially love the nod to the 90's with the small EST. detail on the sleeve and the flag emblem on the chest. The slim fit denim are the perfect compliment to this jacket with the red white blue detail down the side. If you haven't invested in the side stripe pant trend this is a great way to do so for the summer season. I finished the look off in classic american style with a pair of off-white converse.

Look 2

This option is one with summer fully on the mind. It's time to take the sleeve length north and show some skin. It's safe to say that this shirt will be one of staples all summer. Let's look at some of the essential details as to why I love it. The revere collar is fully back and is a must have for all guys this summer. The chevron print is reminiscent of the bold prints of the 60s and 70s. And lastly, the pink color is one all of us men should feel confident in! The perfect way to match this top is with a simple side stride chino. The black and white option allows the top to do all the talking, but also makes a trend statement in itself. The cropped cut is great for summer with no-show socks to allow some breathing room. I finished this look with a classic pair of black vans old skool.

Look 3

The final look of the series is one of my favorites as it is a total greaser look. The greasers of the 1950's are responsible for so many menswear staples we take for granted today. Believe it or not, this leather jacket is the first biker jacket I have ever owned. The jacket is of great quality, without breaking the bank. I especially love the belt and pocket detail.  I kept the vintage vibes going with a striped contrast collar shirt, unbuttoned enough to show my undershirt. I finished off the look with slim back denim and black military boots.
